Melanie was born in Queens, New York but moved to Kissimmee, Florida when at the age of eight. She loves new York, but I considers herself a Florida girl.
She enjoys traveling and with her best traveling experience being to Peru (where both her parents are from.) There Melanie got to go sandboarding for the first time on the sand dunes of Huacachina, an oasis town in south central Peru.
Before joining Jordan Law Ms. Veramendi was a full time student at UF (Go Gators!) where she recently completed her undergraduate degree in English and Political Science. She considers reading and writing to be her twin passions and loved being an English major because it gave her the perfect excuse to continue doing the things she loved on a daily basis.
During her time at UF Melanie was part of many different organizations like the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars where she acted as a mentor to scholars. Ms. Veramendi was also was a campaign director of Chispas a social justice organization on campus dedicated to advocating for immigrant communities both on campus and in the community.
Melanie began her legal career as an intern at the Umansky law firm over one summer and worked in opening and closing files, helping attorneys with regular tasks, and was even involved in some arts and crafts every once and awhile.
Her role at Jordan Law is to help our new and returning clients through the onboarding process. She makes sure all their information is up-to-date and as acurate as possible. She’s always there for our guests with a warm smile and a helping hand.
